LIVE THE RETIREMENT YOU DESERVE
Recognised by the TES as “a seminar essential for those considering retirement” the Teachers' Retirement Agencys' (TRA) highly acclaimed 'Planning for Retirement' one-day seminar has supported and reassured teachers for over 20 years.
The TRA was introduced by teachers to guide teachers through constant changes to the Teachers' Pensions Scheme. It was created to provide a forum for the teaching community to help each other through the potential stress and upheaval at retirement. It was designed to discuss the "New Beginnings" of the third age, giving impartial, holistic information on life after an eventful and rewarding teaching career.
The 'Planning for Retirement' one-day course was originally organised by the University of Leeds and consisted of a number of seminars on important aspects of retirement. Following a strategic review, the University decided that all its short courses had to lead to accreditation and unfortunately retirement planning did not fall into this category. As a result, the Teachers' Retirement Agency was formed to take over the administration and delivery of the same course in the early 1990's
THE COURSE LEADERS
Run by a highly experienced team, all with a background in education, the TRA has helped thousands of teachers over many years to prepare for retirement. All the course leaders have held senior positions in education, and have written articles and provided expert advice on retirement planning.
THE 1 DAY SEMINAR
The 'Planning for Retirement' seminar addresses the issues important to teachers as they approach retirement. In the morning session, our course leader will provide you with a thought-provoking overview of what one can prepare for and expect in retirement. For most the decision to retire focuses primarily on finances, and as such the afternoon session is dedicated to this area.
The financial speakers are a Chartered firm of highly experienced Teachers Retirement Planning Specialists with many years of working with the education profession.
If you are considering retiring within the next 5 years, please do not leave it too late to attend.
Felicity Starkey, Motcombe School comments: "Thank you for providing an excellent course, the details of which I have passed on to all my staff who are over 50. I wish I had attended one sooner!" and this typifies the feedback we regularly receive.
